With the majors being in the game now, this means the real world host courses for 2025 are present in PGA Tour 2K25. Quail Hollow makes its return to the series as it hosts this year’s PGA Championship. Meanwhile, Oakmont and Royal Portrush make their series debuts as they host the US Open and Open Championship.

Each of these courses is legendary and all have some fantastic holes. Some holes are beautifully designed and provide a tough challenge while others are just downright fun from tee to green. There aren’t really any weak holes on these courses, but for this article we’re going to pick one particular hole from each course that stands out the most. With the PGA Championship being the first of these three majors, it only makes sense to kick things off with Quail Hollow.

Quail Hollow (PGA Championship) – Hole 17

Part of the one of the most iconic three-hole stretches in golf known as the “Green Mile”, the 17th is the one hole that can change everything. I have to admit, deciding between holes 16, 17, and 18 is really difficult at the George Cobb design, but the par-3 17th is arguably the most memorable as it is equal parts beautiful as it is scary.

The green is a decent size but not as huge as you would think, and then you have all of that water on the left side just waiting to turn your golf ball into a fish. Oh, and by the way, there’s a skinny bunker in front of the green too for extra pain. Once you play this par-3, you simply don’t forget it. Then you finish off the Green Mile with a great 18th hole.

Oakmont (US Open) – Hole 3

One of the undisputed greatest courses in the world, Oakmont remains the king of the US Open, having hosted it more than any other course. It’s a historic, pristine, and also terrifying design. Designer Henry Fownes knew exactly where golfers would hit their errant shots and added bunkers in those locations. How hilariously diabolical.

But, with so many great holes here, the one that always pops to mind is the third hole that features arguably the most famous bunker in golf, the “Church Pews” on the left side of the fairway. And then towards the green, there’s an army of bunkers on the right side, so getting a great score here is really satisfying.

Royal Portrush (Open Championship) – Hole 5

The signature 16th hole at Royal Portrush is amazing and is a lot of fun to play in PGA Tour 2K25. However, it’s the par-4 fifth hole that stands out just as much. It’s a really fun hole being a drivable par-4, and although you can drive the green, you can also easily see your ball roll off the green. So it’s something you have to take into account if you do try to go for the green in one.

Beyond that, there are two sneaky bunkers waiting to catch your ball like a baseball outfielder. And on top of the fun of the hole, it has a breathtaking view of the ocean as well, and you can see it in full glory from the green on this H.S. Colt layout.
