OK, so this isn’t exactly SKATE 4 or Session… But it is skateboarding with birds. Wait, what?

Yup, you read that right. Glass Bottom Games received their funds on their Kickstarter page with over 2,500 backers and $67,000 pledged, with plans to release the game in 2020 for the Nintendo Switch and PC, via Steam. They are also looking to release on Mac, Linux and possibly more.

In SkateBIRD, you control your skateboarding bird in miniature bird-sized parks, with simple controls to grind on bendy straws, kick-flip over staplers, and carve killer lines through cardboard and sticky tape.

The bird-sized skate parks are explorable, fun sandboxes to skate around in. You’ll find bowls to skate (some with cereal inside), hidden routes, and have the ability to zoom through some doors, you aren’t supposed to open.

As you carve up the park, you’ll find secret hats, clothing and more to try on, and different skateboards too (some of them have strange powers). You’ll can even find secret mixtapes, which unlock more in-game tunes to skate to.

It’s not all about skating either. There are tasks you can complete, like locating a toy, finding a snack or knocking over books to explore other areas. When completing these tasks, you gain more clout, get even more tasks and eventually host a skate event.

You’re a lonely lil’ bird, and your Big Friend has hung up their board for good. Their job sucks, and lately, they’re barely ever home to play with you. You’re gonna fix all that with the power of being a chill little skateboarding bird. You may be tiny, but the more you skate, the more following you get, the more the world of bird skating will open up. Birds will come check out your park, help you find more parks, and together you’ll (somehow) fix Big Friend’s life! Above all else, skate birds try their best!
  • Explore lots of bird-sized parks, with simple controls familiar to any pro skating tiny hawk.
  • Find fancy clothing, secret mixtapes of new music, birbs that need your help, and more!
  • Skate to an original low-fi birb-hop soundtrack, and unlock new tracks from underground bands as you explore the world!
