When it comes to ESBC vs. Fight Night, there’s going to be plenty of time to analyze it further once eSports Boxing Club is finally released. Still, we’ve seen some glimpses of gameplay, so Prince has taken the footage we’ve seen in ESBC and reproduced similar action in Fight Night Champion for you to compare in a versus mode of sorts.
Will we see a patch? Yes, we know SDS is working on it. However, it’s going to be one of those things where will it be timely? Will it be enough? Will we need multiple patches? There’s a lot left to decipher here during a bumpy technical launch for SDS. Cross-play, general server issues, roster share and create-a-stadium technical problems, and Road to the Show issues are the most pressing problems that SDS will need to deal with to smooth out the post-release story for MLB The Show 21.

Like any skateboarding game, you can find yourself getting lost on a sick line or trick that you almost landed — only to find that an hour has passed and the original trick has now become something so much more. This has always been a “problem” for me in every skateboarding game. But now, I find getting lost watching other users skate around the open world, trying various lines, and other big tricks. They even tweaked the replay editor to give users the option to record their own lines and tricks with their friends. In short, you and your friends can now create sick highlights together. That’s right, you and your friends can now make your own skate videos.
The 1st Inning Program is ready to go here at launch for MLB The Show 21. Programs are mostly unchanged this year from a structural standpoint, but it does appear the influx of stuff to do will vary slightly now with no Showdown at launch. In addition, you’re not chasing 300 stars anymore but rather XP totals. To get to the 1st Inning bosses, you need 350,000 XP. On top of that, the rewards are more robust here since there are no more long-term XP programs to chase. Lastly, programs now have finite end dates on them. This 1st Inning Program ends 21 days from now, which would place the end date right on May 7.
All-Star Huston Street has been added to the 1st Inning Program in MLB The Show 21. This is the second player program for the 1st Inning, joining Veteran Eric Davis. Street is an 87 overall closer with a 4-seam, slider, circle change, and 2-seam fastball. You can unlock this card by doing a variety of missions, exchanges, and moments — as per usual.
Well lads, Orel is back again. Hershiser has haunted many dreams during his tenure in The Show, and so it’s going to be very interesting to see where this card slots into things. I know a lot of people are still looking for pitchers they feel comfortable with on the mound as they adjust to a new pitching mechanic, so Hershiser could end up serving as that security blanket for many folks. That being said, I can’t say I have ever used Hershiser as much as most others. I think I use enough finesse pitchers as is, so I don’t usually gravitate to a player this meta. Plus, I have a general dislike of Orel as a commentator for Dodgers games, so I just don’t want to give him the satisfaction of putting him in my rotation. Take that, Orel.
…Well, no. Still, in all seriousness, it’s no secret that FIFA’s Ultimate Team (FUT) is a cash-cow for EA, generating over $1 billion in revenue across EA’s suite of games as of the latest earnings report. It’s also no secret that companies would try to push their consumers towards highly profitable business models. To understand the uproar this has caused, let’s go back to the beginning.
Even though MLB The Show has spent the last couple years separating its Diamond Dynasty mode from the rest of the pack by making it the best card-collecting mode in any sports video game, it can still be overwhelming to newcomers. There’s plenty of opportunity to build your own competitive squad without needing to spend any real money at all, but some are still bound to be initially confused by what exactly they need to do in order to get their hands on those good cards as quickly as possible. Well, hopefully this MLB The Show 21 Diamond Dynasty guide can help you all out.
The Daily Mission program for May in MLB The Show 21 Diamond Dynasty is our first look at what a full month of dailies will look like. We had the truncated program with an Evolution Jason Giambi and Roberto Alomar in April, but now we have a full 30-day program here. The Evolution Madison Bumgarner and Matt Kemp will be in a choice pack. You will have two cracks at this choice pack so you can get both players. There is also a diamond Breakout Gary Sheffield to snag on the rewards track as well.
Thinking back to when I was a kid, I would spend hours drawing different stadiums and different layouts at school or in my free time. In fact, I became so passionate about it and did it so often that others in the classroom would see what I was doing and started doing it themselves (nerd alert). Now that may seem strange to a lot of you who are reading this and that’s fine. Even at the early age of eight or nine, I found myself doing this and drawn into the world of architecture and baseball stadium design. While my career choices followed down a different path, recently I have found that love and passion rekindled by the release of Sony San Diego’s stadium creator in next-gen MLB The Show 21. In fact, it’s consumed my time in vast quantities, and it’s the reason for this stadium creator deep dive/review.
