NBA 2K22 has some areas that really shine, but like always, there are some serious questions. Brian decided to take this opportunity to ask the developers some of thosequestions about the game and series. We’ve dug into some of the elements surrounding the game this year, but what would you want to ask the 2K development team if you had a chance to (respectfully) interact with them.

When I was a kid, I wanted to work at Midway Games. Their output in the 1990s was nothing short of miraculous, churning out triumph after triumph. NBA Jam, NFL Blitz, and Mortal Kombat encouraged all of us to seek out arcades wherever we could to beat the summer heat. Then when the Thanksgiving and holiday breaks rolled out, I found myself crammed around a tiny television playing through Cruis’n games. Looking back now, it’s only now easy to realize how fortunate I was to grow up in this era. This also leads me to Cruis’n Blast.
As mentioned in my look at five of the best mini-golf courses to play in PGA Tour 2K21, part of the basic appeal of mini golf is that you can get through a round relatively quickly compared to the more traditional style of the sport. So chances are, you may have already quickly played through all of the courses mentioned in that list and are perhaps now left wondering if there are any other mini-golf courses out there worth playing. Well, reader, you are in luck. The course design community for the game has been toiling away for quite some time since the game’s release and they’ve come up with a large number of wacky and wild mini-golf layouts to satisfy putting fanatics.
I’ve showcased Mike Lowe’s work before with sliders, and while this is more of the same in one respect, he’s also been putting in a lot of work to put out a slider app that you can use with Madden 22 (you could also use it with MLB The Show 21). It’s a cool concept because as is the case with most sliders, while you sometimes build them for mass consumption, the sliders first and foremost have to make sense to the individual making them. This means that when you look for sliders within the community, you will inevitably end up tweaking them in some way to fit your own personal preferences.
Look, if you’re not tuned into Twitter 24/7, you’re living right — don’t change a thing (at least in that regard, I don’t know what’s happening with the rest of your life, maybe you need to make some major changes elsewhere). While I’m not on Twitter all day either, I do keep my eyes on my old pal Mills and my late-night fix on Twitch Paul Sporer. They’re also heavily into MLB The Show, and the two of them are the reason for this reminder about our MLB The Show Trade Machine we have every year on OS.
One of the more all-encompassing NBA 2K22 roster projects was released in the last week, and so it’s worth showcasing why the NBA 2K22 Attention to Detail roster has been a favorite on the forums the last couple seasons. What sets the NBA 2K22 ATD roster apart from some other custom rosters out there is it goes beyond basic roster edits. It gets into the guts of players, looks at team tendencies, and it also spans across all platforms (albeit that’s a WIP still). In short, it’s almost like playing in a whole new league and getting to experience a game that plays almost totally different at times.
The extended amount of time between a game’s announcement and eventual release is both exciting and dangerous. I think it’s fair to say both those elements are magnified and intensified when it comes to being the first college game to release in many years. So as it relates to EA Sports College Football, there is a lot riding on this project. In the interest of not just doing a catch-all EA Sports College Football wishlist, we have sort of been dripping out our own hopes and dreams either via the community or our Athletic Director mode.
It’s that time of year when we ask our OS community to vote in the Operation SportsCommunity Game of the Year Awards. Voting will close on December 26 at 11:59 PM ET. We will have the results up shortly after the polls close. Thank you for your participation.
We’ll see you again next Sunday with more sports gaming news, videos and featured articles.
