efootball 2022 season 2With eFootball 2022 Season 2 launching on June 16, I thought it best to put together a rundown of all the latest happenings here at the start of the week. I won’t cover every new thing Konami adds to the game (and the news does not just relate to Season 2), but this is what has stuck out to me as of late.

According to FIFA insider FIFAWitcher and confirmed by various other outlets, Konami is set to lose the Serie A league license while also losing the exclusive Juventus FC license

FieldSense feels like another buzzword that is commonly used and quickly forgotten in many sports games. Still, if you listen to EA, it equips players with more control at every position in every mode and is a new foundation for consistent, ultra-realistic gameplay. That’s a hefty statement, and forgive me if I still remain a bit skeptical.

That said, while it’s still early, I am willing to eat a bit of crow here and admit that while the description of FieldSense is a bit too all-encompassing, its implementation can be felt all over the field. From seeing it visually when utilizing my running back to participating in mid-air collisions, the new gameplay interactions incorporating new physics and branching animations add a new layer of excitement to the game.

Ranked Seasons 4 - World Series RewardsFirst off, take note that Javy Baez is a 2B primary even though the card art has shortstop on it. That said, it is the right call because he did play primarily 2B that season. However, it does hurt the potential to play him at SS just a bit because he won’t have diamond defense there by default (he would need P5 I believe). This means he may not be able to squeeze in over Marte or one or two others if you want to roll with him now at 2B. I will happily still use him at 2B because he’s got one of my favorite swings in the entire game.

eFootball 2022 dream team guideSo if you’re like me, you’ve been frustrated by the recent soccer offerings from Konami and EA. As an offline player/casual online player, I’ve been itching to get my hands on an updated Master League from Konami as eFootball PES 2021 Season Update is nearly two years old, and EA’s career mode in FIFA 22 has too many deficiencies such as poor AI both on and off the pitch. Well, when it comes to eFootball 2022, there are really only two ways to play the game. There is the offline versus the AI, which is basically a glorified demo, and this other mode called Dream Team. Well, what exactly is this Dream Team mode and is it enough to keep playing a game that is still a bit rough around the edges. Well, thankfully, I have put together a handy eFootball 2022 Dream Team guide that we’ll flesh out over a few parts to help you understand and hopefully get better at the mode.

What Card Modes Can StealIt’s easy to look at the prevalence of card-collecting modes in sports video games and their reliance on micro-transactions and find a lot that annoys and frustrates. Between how interminable the grind for good cards can be for the no money spent crowd and the tendency of these modes to try to steer people towards purchasing currency and packs, there’s no question that it can feel like the cons outweigh the pros. However, within every one of these card-collecting modes, there’s usually at least an idea or two that surprises me and has me wondering why other card-collecting modes don’t steal them for their own game. They say that imitation is the most sincere form of flattery, so considering many of these modes have a lot of overlap already anyway, there’s no harm in finding a way to adapt a concept to fit within your own game’s existing framework.

Future Stars Bryston StottAnother month, another program in the books. Diamond Dynasty kept the content rolling with another massive program featuring 30 boss cards. As opposed to current-day stars of each respective team, the Future of the Franchise Program showcased up-and-coming prospects. The Future Stars series has been more prevalent over the last couple years and this program featured some of the best Future Stars to date. There’s also the fun dynamic of some of these players actually reaching MLB already. Players like Michael Harris II, Bryson Stott, Reid Detmers and Joey Bart among others are already big leaguers. So while it’s fun to see more “optimistic” cards featuring prospects at the low-levels, seeing similarly powerful versions of guys already in the bigs really shows that the future is now for many players and teams featured.

For F1 22, the option to create a solo or co-op career is back, as well as the ability to choose between starting in F2 or jumping in head first with F1 to begin battling with some of the best drivers in the world. For this review, I chose an F1 solo career, but for those interested in the co-op option, it is back and as good as before, with a few more options and additions.

F1 22 also allows you to join a solidified team or start a brand-new group. You can choose to start with nothing or a king’s ransom at the beginning of your journey. I decided to start with Hass Racing with Mick Schumacher as my teammate and mid-tier funding.

What has always grabbed my attention with career mode in F1 remains here with the newest release. I have the ability to not only participate in full race weekends with practice, qualifying, and the race itself, but I also help build the team up from its current status.
