The Most Expensive Rocket League Items, Ranked by Price

These Rocket League items will break the bank.

Rocket League has hundreds of different items that add unique customizations to our cars or goal celebrations. These items span different rarities, from Common to Exotic and Black Market. But, out of all these items, there are a few that only a handful of players have got in their collection.

Today, we are looking at the most expensive and rare Rocket League items in the game. We will be examining how much these items were going for on the Trading platform and how difficult they are to obtain.

Owning any of these items is more than just a way to make your car look nice; it is a huge flex to other players in the game, especially if they are dedicated players who know what items are rare. In fact, some of the most expensive items don’t even look that great. The exclusivity of the items makes them so appreciated by other players.

10 Most Expensive Items In Rocket League

1. White Hat Topper

The rarest and most expensive item in Rocket League is the White Hat topper. In fact, you were not even able to trade this item because of the conditions it was awarded to players. The developers of Rocket League, Psyonix, awarded the White Hat topper to players who reported major exploits in the game during Alpha testing. This means you had to be an active player from the early days, just after it changed its name from Supersonic Acrobatic Rocket-Powered Battle-Cars

The White Hat topper is like seeing Bigfoot. You will likely go through your whole Rocket League experience without seeing this topper in the game. If you do, you know you are playing against someone who has played the game since the very start. And, they will be so experienced in the game that they were able to find a major game-changing exploit.

2. Gold Rush Alpha Boost Trail

The Gold Rush Alpha boost was specifically awarded to players who were involved in the Alpha testing of Rocket League. Unlike the White Hat topper, you didn’t have to perform any tasks to get this boost trail. Also, this item was available to trade when trading was still in the game. But, you still likely wouldn’t get your hands on it as it was up for between 800,000 and 1 million credits! That’s between $5000 and $6000!

The Gold Rush Alpha boost trail goes for such a high price because it is also one of the best-looking boosts in the game. This legendary trail spits golden flames from the back of your car. Its simplicity, mixed with the gold shimmer, makes it highly sought-after. And its rarity makes it that much more appealing.

Gold Rush Alpha boost has never been in the item store. So, if you see someone using it, they either paid a lot of money or are one of the original Rocket League players.

3. Goldstone Wheels

You may have guessed it already, but the Goldstone wheels were only available to RL players who were in the Alpha testing. Alpha testing was only available to PC players and started in February 2014. As a reward, these players got a range of golden items that have become the holy grail of Rocket League items.

The Goldstone wheels are similar to the Gold Rush Alpha boost trail because they are a brilliant mixture of rare and good-looking. They feature a multi-spoke wheel with an entire rim that is gold-plated. The tire tread also looks great with a simplistic pattern.

The best part about the Goldstone wheels is that they are discreet. It’s a huge flex whenever you can subtly show off your prestige without shoving it down people’s throats. As the shoes of the car, the Goldstone wheels are akin to the exclusive Nike Mags. The Goldstone wheels sold for around 600,000 credits. That’s just below $5000, which is much more expensive than some people’s favorite sneakers.

4. Gold Cap Topper

Sticking with the same theme, you won’t be surprised to hear that the Gold Cap topper was another gold item given to Rocket League Alpha testers. And if this wasn’t noticeable already, the cap spells “ALPHA” in graffiti-like letters across the top. The Gold Cap topper isn’t as discrete and subtle as the two gold items before it. Instead, it’s loud and is perfect for players who want to draw attention. And with a price of between 200,000 and 250,000 credits (roughly $2000), you might want people to know how great your collection is.

If the Goldstone wheels are expensive shoes, the Gold Cap topper is like wearing a big gold chain. There’s no avoiding it, and everybody in the lobby will notice. In addition, Rocket League players don’t often put toppers on their cars, so this will stand out anyway. This may be the reason why this item is slightly cheaper than the ones above.

5. Titanium White Apex Wheels

The Titanium White Apex Wheels are one of the main contributors to the success of the Rocket League trading market. They were once considered the rarest item in the game and were the holy grail for many collectors.

Twitch Drops were the only way you could initially get your hands on these wheels. You had to be watching the RLCS (Rocket League Championship Series) at the time while being signed up through an external website. This sounds easy, but the organization wasn’t amazing, as the game is not as popular now. More people started to watch by the third season, but they discontinued the Titanium White Apex Wheels after the fourth season. It wasn’t as simple as watching the stream either, you had to get lucky that you would get an item, let alone these wheels.

The Titanium White Apex Wheels are special because they suit every Rocket League player’s ideal set-up: simple and rare. The subtle white wall and a few white spokes look clean and suit a range of different styles. The tires also have a unique hexagonal pattern that looks futuristic.

6. Black Reaper Goal Explosion

The Black Reaper goal explosion is the most expensive goal explosion in Rocket League. It is one of the rarest items in the game, and even if you have seen someone use the Reaper goal explosion, it likely wasn’t the black version. You could get your hands on the Black Reaper goal explosion through Drops/ Blueprints during the Haunted Hallows series. The chance of getting the Reaper goal explosion was minimal.

The Black Reaper goal explosion is the most sought after not only because it’s the rarest color variation, but also because it looks the most sinister. This goal explosion opens a portal where the ball goes over the line and summons a Reaper that floats out of the void. The Reaper then floats to the top and strikes a dab on your opponent. It is a dated way to flex on people, but the rarity will have other players in amazement.

When the trading was still open, you could pick up this item for 75,000 credits. This means people would pay close to 750 dollars for this item. You may still have a chance to get this item in future Halloween events, so keep your eyes peeled around October each year.

7. Mainframe Decal

The Mainframe Decal is the rarest decal in Rocket League. It was much rarer until the decals dropped in the Item Shop a few times over the past year. You can get this item from Black Market drops during different Item Series. This is a universal decal, meaning you can use it for any car you want.

The Mainframe decal is animated. It has flashes of light that trace lines across the car from the front to the back. They look like electrical pulses showing the inside of future technology. The different Paint options will determine what color these flashes of light are.

The Titanium White Mainframe Decal previously cost 60,000 – 80,000 credits. However, since it is much more available now, you can likely pick this decal up for much cheaper (if trading were still available).

8. Gold Nugget Antenna

The Gold Nugget antenna is the last item on this list gifted to the Alpha players. The Gold Nugget antenna is another one of the subtle flex’s in this pack that can fit with a range of designs but isn’t as loud as the Gold Cap topper. The Gold Nugget antenna is exactly how you would picture it. It gives you a small golden nugget on the end of your antenna.

The same antenna was released to players in Rocket League’s beta testing, so this item falls well below the rest of the golden set. At its height of popularity, the Gold Nugget antenna was going for around 50,000 credits.

This is the most expensive antenna in Rocket League. Normally, antenna customizations don’t cost much, as many players don’t use them at all. Also, these items are quite small and discrete compared to decals or wheels. Rocket League players would rather spend money on items that are subtle and not too novel, like a car antenna.

9. Titanium White Dominus

The Titanium White Dominus was the most expensive car Paint variation in Rocket League. This car color variation has only been in the Item Store a handful of times. So, you were only able to pick up this car color if you had credits at the right time. Alternatively, you could get lucky and get the item through Drops or (R.I.P.) Trading.

At the height of its popularity, the Titanium White Dominus was for sale for a maximum of 50,000 credits. That’s a digital car worth almost $500. You could find a real car for less than that (yes, it would be bad, but it probably still runs). In more recent times, the price dropped dramatically.

The Dominus design is based on a 1969 Pontiac GTO. It looks like pure American muscle and is sought-after in the game because it looks real rather than futuristic. On top of this, RL players like this car because of its hitbox; that’s why you will see it used by high-ranking players and why it previously sold for so much.

10. Monstercat Turntable MC Wheels

The Monstercat Turntable MC wheels are one of the rarest items in Rocket League and are also expensive and highly collectible. You could only get these wheels by purchasing the Monstercat Greatest Hits vinyl. The item would then come with a code to redeem a set number of items in the game.

In 2019, Psyonix had players vote on their favorite songs from inside the game. The top 20 tracks were then released on vinyl as an exclusive feature of the game. Only dedicated and hardcore fans (or ones with record players) got hold of this piece of RL history. As the vinyl sold out so quickly, many players are guaranteed to hold onto these exclusive items.

The Monstercat Turntable MC wheels feature an entire wheel shaped like a record player. The tire walls look like the deck and needle, while the rims are a record with the Monstercat logo. Even the tires themselves look like the tracking elements you find on record players.
