UFC 5 Patch 1.17 Adds Two More Fighters, Gameplay Updates and More

EA Sports UFC 5 recently released patch 1.17, introducing two new fighters, gameplay improvements, Black Friday bundles in the in-game Store and more. Kai Asakura and Michael Morales have joined the roster along with three new Alter Egos of Jon Jones, Valentina Shevchenko and Sean O’Malley, inspired by the 90’s era of the UFC.

The striking-only mode, Ranked Stand and Bang, is now available online with leaderboards. Players can compete to climb the rankings by battling it out on their feet to get wins. Fans can also log into UFC 5 and claim the Alex “Poaton” Pereira UFC 303 Alter Ego from the in-game store for free until January 7, 2025. Gameplay Updates

  • Fixed an issue that prevented fighters from throwing retreating rear hooks.
  • Made Full Guard Top count as a dominant position for judges scoring (It counted as neutral.)
  • Fixed the camera following some diving punches from heavy knockdowns.

Misc. Additions and Updates

  • New assorted vanity rewards added.
