Undisputed Developers Provide Details on Upcoming Fighter AI Changes

The Undisputed development team has provided another update on their progress as they continue refining the game before its official launch on October 11 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC via Steam. This update focuses on the improvements made to the game’s AI over the past few months, as well as some work on fighter individualization.

The team’s primary goal has been to further differentiate the AI behavior of the four fighter archetypes: Slugger, Outboxer, Swarmer, and Boxer-Puncher. Each archetype is designed to mimic the fighting style of real-life counterparts, ensuring players can see and feel the unique strategies. For example, Swarmers pressure opponents with a high volume of punches, while Sluggers throw more power shots and are more durable.

Within these archetypes, the team has customized combinations, reactions to damage and other behaviors. Each archetype will also have independent balancing in the full game, with different modifiers affecting their stats. Sluggers, for instance, will have more damage and health compared to other archetypes.

The team has also collaborated with CompuBox to gather historical data for the fighters on their roster. This data has been used to inform decisions regarding fighter ratings and traits, further enhancing the game’s authenticity as it approaches full launch.
