The Undisputed development team is actively sharing their progress while refining the game ahead of its official launch on October 11 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam. Today’s update provides details on the upcoming stamina balance changes in the ring. The goal has always been to enable players to fight in a variety of styles that are true to the sport and the roster. Whether players prefer to play it safe and win on points, fight aggressively for knockouts or use a mix of both strategies, these styles should be viable. Most importantly, reckless players should feel the impact of their recklessness.
Throughout the early access phase, the team has introduced numerous changes to fine-tune the balance. While some adjustments have been successful, others have fallen short. A key area of difficulty has been managing stamina and ensuring that its careful use affects the fight’s outcome. The team has increased both the short and long-term stamina costs for punches, as well as the cost for missed punches. This encourages players to choose their shots wisely and time them precisely to preserve stamina for the later rounds. Moreover, between-round stamina recovery has been recalibrated based on a player’s activity; using more stamina in a round now leads to less recovery, and vice versa.
