One of the all-time topics on Operation Sports that I can remember through the years goes through many permutations but basically comes down to “what will you do first in X game” when you get it? For EA Sports College Football 25, one of the most popular questions has become what team will you use first?
If you’re looking forward to using certain teams, it’s probably even more super charged considering it’s been over 10 years since you last had a chance to answer this question. The easy general answer to this question comes down to “my favorite team” or “my alma mater” but it’s always enjoyable to see the reasoning behind the picks.
For me, I always look at early top 25 predictions, and even with guys like Bowers and Mims gone from the roster next season, Georgia seems to be at the top of or near the top of most lists at this point. OS user Junior Moe echoes these thoughts by saying “Georgia Bulldogs. It’ll be fun to have one of the best teams in the game and try to win the Natty in year one. I am also looking forward to the challenge of keeping my players out of the portal, as well as recruiting.”
Moe brings up one of the other fun things about this particular thread in that people are already considering the new dimensions like the portal and how that will impact things — assuming EA focuses on it enough as well to matter.
The other unknown dimension would be Team Builder and that’s brought up quite a bit as well. OSer illwill10 calls it out: “My Team Builder team would be the top choice. I really want to build a team from the ground up from a one star to powerhouse. I’m not sure if I’ll be as emotionally attached to a lower-tier school to build them from the ground up.”
But some still just care about the aesthetics, and since we know we’re getting a ton of uniforms in this game, I do like that PhillyPhanatic14 says “whoever has the sickest uniform combinations.” I like this simple logic, and honestly I might fall into this camp as well. I will also consider stadiums as a big reason for who to focus on early in my experience.
