With Playground Games wrapping up the content cycle for Forza Horizon 5, fans eagerly await the next installment. While no official news has been released, we believe the announcement for Forza Horizon 6 is closer than ever. So, with the potential announcement around the corner, where is the Forza Festival heading next?
Even with Playground Games being completely silent about the next Forza game, the community has started connecting the dots. From the location to the launch date, everything is pure speculation. That said, let’s take a look at what we know about the location of Forza Horizon 6.
Will The Forza Festival Head To Japan?

While Forza Horizon is all about racing, the location plays a major role. It can quite easily make or break the game. So, let’s talk about the elephant in the room. Will the Forza Festival finally head to the land of the rising sun?
The short answer to that question is we’re not sure. However, there are a ton of reasons why Japan is a highly potential location. Firstly, fans have been begging for Japan since the release of Forza Horizon 2. The land of the rising sun has been the most demanded location. From the Tokyo racing scene to beautiful landscapes, Japan has a ton to offer, and fans have been crying for it.
With so much hype around Japan, Playground Games have not been oblivious. However, they’ve been resisting Japan for years. That said, Forza Horizon 6 could be where they finally cave in. There are a few reasons behind this. To start with, the Forza Festival always shifts a continent with a new installation.
- Forza Horizon – Colorado, USA (North America)
- Forza Horizon 2 – Southern France and Northern Italy (Europe)
- Forza Horizon 3 – Australia (Oceania)
- Forza Horizon 4 – England and Scotland (Europe)
- Forza Horizon 5 – Mexico (North America)
However, Asia still hasn’t been represented in the Forza series. Since the continent will be shifted in Forza Horizon 6, Asia is highly plausible. And if the Forza Festival goes to Asia, then Japan will likely be where it lands. On top of that, while Playground Games has been hesitant to reveal official information, they did give us a tiny hint.
Recently, a ton of JDM cars were added in Forza Horizon 5 through the JDM Jewels Car Pack. Previously, Playground Games have hinted at the next location of the Forza Festival through DLCs like these. At the end of Forza Horizon 3, a ton of British cars were added to the game, and the next location turned out to be England. While this is all speculation, it seems like Playground Games are hinting towards finally taking the Forza Festival to Japan. That said, we’ll just have to wait and see.
Why Japan Is The Perfect Setting For Forza Horizon 6

When it comes to racing, the first thing that pops up in a lot of people’s minds is Japan. Being the birthplace of the drifting scene, Japan has so much potential. This potential can be seen in the success of the Tokyo Xtreme Racer franchise, which makes the most of the Japanese racing scene. Taking a page out of their book, Playground Games could make Forza Horizon 6 the biggest title in the series if they set the game in Japan.
Japan’s huge variety of terrain provides endless possibilities for both racing and drifting enthusiasts. Players could live out their Tokyo Drifting dreams, recreate the Initial D drifts, and slam the accelerators on the long highways. On top of that, Japan features a rich culture that could help in developing a great storyline for Forza Horizon 6. Fans have long been craving a good story mode in Forza, and this is the perfect opportunity for Playground Games.
On top of this, Japan features some of the biggest auto manufacturers, including Honda, Nissan, and Toyota. If Forza 6 were to be set in Japan, Playground Games could add a ton of new cars into the game. From the early 90s JDM to the classic street racers, the possibilities are endless. Overall, Japan offers everything a racing enthusiast could wish for and could become one of the best locations for a Forza title. So, let’s just cross our fingers and hope that Playground Games listens to the fans this time around.
Other Potential Locations For Forza Horizon 6

While Japan is a major contender for the setting of Forza Horizon 6, it’s not set in stone. Playground Games have been unpredictable in the past, and they could pull a 180 again. So, let’s take a look at two more potential locations for the next Forza Festival.
China
Similar to Japan, China is situation in Asia. This makes it another great contender for representing Asia in the Forza franchise. From beautiful landscapes to highspeed highways, China features a ton of variety, which was lacking in Forza Horizon 5. On top of that, the country of China features a vast culture, which could add even more depth to the game.
You could drive on the snowy mountains, city highways, or even the fields. China is a highly potential location as a ton of different race types could be added due to its variety. Plus, how amazing would it be to race on top of the Great Wall of China? All these factors make the case for China featuring the next Forza Festival over Japan. However, with no news regarding the location, nothing can be marked official.
Germany
Germany is another highly speculated location for Forza Horizon 6, with some even claiming it as the official location. However, that’s not the case since no official news has dropped. That said, it’s still a major contender among China and Japan, and perhaps the most plausible one as well. Germany features some of the most luxury auto manufacturers in the world, including Porsche, BMW, and Lamborghini. And, for a game that’s all about racing, it makes perfect sense to set the game in Germany.
Additionally, being home to these high-end car brands, Germany features a huge culture of racing enthusiasts. So, taking the Forza Festival to Germany is a no-brainer for Playground Games. However, there are a few drawbacks to setting the game in Germany. Similar to Mexico, taking the Forza Festival to Germany will make the map a bit monotone. While Germany features great roads and highways, the country lacks a variety of landscapes compared to Japan and China. That said, the influential car culture of the country makes Germany a strong potential location.
