WRC 9 Patch Adds 120hz Performance & High Visual Quality Modes For Next-Gen Consoles - Patch Notes

A new WRC 9 game update has arrived today for all platforms, laying the groundwork for Esports WRC season 6. Next-gen users will receive the new co-driver mode and new Rally Portugal Stages, which released earlier this month for current-gen users, in this patch as well.

Next-gen consoles also have the ability to select from 120hz performance, balanced or high visual quality modes.

PlayStation 5 & Xbox Series X

  • 120hz Performance Mode – 120 FPS at 1080p
  • Balanced Mode – 60 FPS at 4K (Dynamic)
  • High Visual Quality Mode – 30 FPS at 4K

Xbox Series S

  • Balanced Mode – 60 FPS at 1080p
  • High Visual Quality Mode – 30 FPS at 1440p

General Fixes
  • Fixed an issue with archs wrongly branded on Portugal stages
  • Fixed an issue where both players could control the gears of each other in split screen mode
  • Fixed an issue when controller’s vibration could stop after restarting a stage
  • Copilot mode can now be played with Dashboard camera.
  • Fixed an issue where you could see out of the world with the photo mode
  • Fixed an issue where switching user while in spectator mode reset the camera to mode 1
  • Fixed an issue where the copilot couldn’t control the wipers
  • Fixed issue where the progression bar could be stuck while playing on SSS tracks
  • Added several languages for copilot lobby.
  • Fixed issue where additional headlights would not produce any light
  • Fixed various translation issues
  • Fixed several collision issues with the environment
  • Fixed various SFX related issue
PC specific fixes
  • Fixed various mouse / keyboard navigation issues

PlayStation 4 specific fixes
  • Various steering wheel support fixes

Xbox One specific fixes
  • Fixed an issue where a connection error message appeared every few minutes while not connected to the internet
PlayStation 5 specific fixes

  • Fixed crashes after changing the type of tire in tutorial
  • Fixed various online lobby related crashes
  • Fixed an issue where tires and car setup selection were reset when a new player joined an online lobby
  • Added clearer message when failing to write on leaderboards
  • Fixed an issue where both players could control the gears in split-screen
  • Changed unclear text message when leaving photo mode
  • Fixed various collision issues with the Proton Iriz R5
  • Fixed several respawn issues
  • Fixed various issues that could prevent the game to access WRC9 servers
  • Fixed issue where dust didn’t apply on the Ford Fiesta WRC’s windshield
  • Fixed camera placement issue in show room
  • Fixed other various performance issues
  • Improved haptic feedbacks on grass
  • Resolved an issue where vibration and sounds coming out from the controller’s speaker could stop when going off road
  • Controller now vibrates correctly when testing the vibration in the settings
  • Fixed issue where odd visual effects were present on a split-screen race with the Threatening weather
  • Fixed issue where the game would softlock when trying to access online features without a PlayStation plus subscription
Xbox Series X|S specific fixes

Players that have purchased the Xbox One or PlayStation 4 version of WRC 9, will receive a free upgrade to the Xbox Series X|S or PlayStation 5 version, respectively.
