There are a variety of Payback abilities in WWE 2K25, ranging from those that can get you out of a tough spot, like escaping from a pinfall, to ones that will get you disqualified if the referee catches you in the act—so be very careful.

How To Unlock All Paybacks In WWE 2K25

There are six unlockable Paybacks in WWE 2K25, all of which are unlocked in different ways. However, if you are playing on PC or last-gen consoles, namely PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, all Paybacks are unlocked automatically — except one.

We’ve listed all unlockable Paybacks in WWE 2K25 below, including the steps on how to unlock them.

Ref Bump

Ref Bump is one of the Payback abilities in WWE 2K25, unlocked in The Island mode and is available to unlock immediately upon character creation.

When creating a character for The Island, pick the Dynasty background to earn the Ref Bump Payback. Once your character has been created, the Ref Bump Payback is available to use across all game modes.

Powder

Powder is another Payback ability in WWE 2K25, unlocked in The Island mode and is once again available to unlock immediately upon character creation.

When creating a character for The Island, pick the Blue Collar background to earn the Powder Payback. Once the character creation process is complete, the Powder Payback is available to use in all game modes.

Bully

Once again, the Bully Payback ability in WWE 2K25 is unlocked in The Island mode through character creation, so it doesn’t take too long to earn.

While creating a character for The Island, pick the Social Media Influencer background to unlock the Bully Payback. Just like the other Paybacks earned through the Island character creation, the Bully Payback is available across all modes once the character creation is completed.

Adrenaline Rush

The Adrenaline Rush Payback ability is the final Payback unlocked through character creation on The Island and, like the others, doesn’t take long to earn.

Background selection is crucial, so make sure you pick the Parts Unknown Background in the Island character creation to unlock the Adrenaline Rush Payback. Once the character creation is complete, the Adrenaline Rush Payback is available in all game modes.

Dirty Breaker

Dirty Breaker is another Payback unlocked through The Island, but, unlike the other four, this Payback isn’t unlocked through character creation and, instead, you need to play through The Island for a short while — but it won’t take too long.

Using any of the characters you created on The Island, complete the first mission in the mode by speaking to Paul Heyman and win your first match, which earns a Payback Point. To spend this, open the menu, scroll down to the Paybacks option, and use the point to unlock the Dirty Breaker Payback.

Once unlocked, the Dirty Breaker Payback is available to use across all game modes.

Soul Syphon is the only Payback in WWE 2K25 unlocked outside of The Island and, unlike the other five Paybacks listed above, is also unlockable on PC and last-gen consoles through the same method as PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.

To unlock Soul Shyphon, complete Live Event matches in MyRise and earn stars. Stars are earned for the quality of the performance, with the maximum amount provided by a match being five — and you can track the current rating of the match in the top-left corner of the screen.

A total of 124 Live Event stars are required to unlock the Soul Syphon Payback in WWE 2K25, which will take a minimum of 25 matches. If you’re completing matches without a five-star rating, it will take a while longer to unlock.
