As fans await for more solid details on the game, WWE 2K25 has been teasing a few new features and modes that will be included in this year’s title. Earlier this week, it was alluded to that intergender matches could be included in WWE 2K25. And now, 2K has teased another big addition — a Showcase Mode centered on the Bloodline faction.
In a video posted to X earlier today, WWE star Jey Uso greets WWE fans before alluding to WWE 2K’s Showcase Mode, a mode that follows certain classic storylines from WWE’s history in an episodic/scenario fashion. In what has been a common trope for the WWE 2K marketing team in the leadup to 2K25’s official full reveal, Jey is cut off by another WWE Superstar — former Women’s World Champion Liv Morgan — to delay the reveal of any more crucial information.
While on the surface the video could look like a random WWE star talking about Showcase Mode before anything meaningful can be shared, the post itself contains two emojis: A blood drop, and a hand with the index finger pointed towards the sky. As any WWE fan will already know, this is an obvious nod to the Bloodline — a faction that drew tons of eyes to the WWE product in the last half decade — and can be considered a de facto confirmation that Showcase Mode will be centered around the various stages of the group.
There is no faction as ripe for the spotlight of Showcase Mode as the Bloodline. Led by Roman Reigns during his 1,316-day reign as the Undisputed WWE Universal Champion, the Bloodline featured members of the Anoa’i family such as twins Jey and Jimmy Uso, Solo Sikoa, Paul Heyman (as manager), and Reigns himself at its peak. Throughout its history, the Bloodline established itself as one of the most dominant and interesting stables in WWE history, giving birth to the classic “Absolute Cinema” meme that would populate the replies on any video of its exploits.
There are tons of moments that a Showcase Mode focused on the Bloodline could highlight, be it the group’s formation, Sami Zayn’s incredible tenure with the faction as an honorary member, or virtually any of the 33 title defenses Roman Reigns had during his run as Universal Champion (especially the ridiculous Bloodline Rules match from WrestleMania 40).
WWE has teased that a full reveal for WWE 2K25 could be coming on January 27. So stay tuned for more information.
